UX (User Experience) design is becoming increasingly important in the design of a website. With this article we would like to share some UX trends of the moment with you.

UX writing

We see that the user experience is becoming increasingly important in copywriting. Good text is written for the user and serves the conversion of a website. This means that texts must be clear, easy to read and certainly valuable for the reader. We will no longer offer highly digestible texts that are offered in large batches.

Multi device design

Laptop, smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, smart speaker ... The number of devices with which we are connected to the internet has grown considerably in recent years and will only increase in the coming years. We see that the modern customer journey is touching more and more devices. For example, the smart speaker is asked for a blue vacuum cleaner, the blue vacuum cleaner is purchased on the tablet and the track-and-trace code is then sent to the smartphone. And strong multi-device design takes into account customer expectations and makes optimal use of the power of each device.

Smartphone: navigation at the bottom of the screen

Often times, the evolution of our devices forces us to revise previous UX designs. A good example is the physical growth of the smartphone. Because the length of our thumbs has not increased proportionally, many clickable elements have moved beyond our direct reach. For this reason, we are increasingly bringing the main navigation, conversion buttons and other important navigation elements to the bottom of the screen. In this way we increase the ease of use and the chance of conversion on a smartphone.

Animation and motion design

Motion design is increasingly proving itself as a valuable element of UX. Movement makes interactions clearer and more intuitive. Movement can be used to guide a visitor to conversion. And other movement causes elements to appear the moment they become relevant. Think of an invitation for feedback; the form only slides out when a visitor asks for it. A movement or animation can also help tell your story. Just as a person also moves in his / her own way, a movement can also add character to a brand. More and more often we see that 'motion language' is being added to the corporate identity manual so that it is consistently applied to the various means.

Voice UI

In America, smart speakers have made a huge advance. We have not yet seen this advance here in the Netherlands, but recently the assistant of Google can understand and speak our own language. And this will undoubtedly ensure a growth of smart speakers that can only be controlled by a voice. This gives rise to the following question: how are we going to serve users if they no longer use keyboards, mice or even screens? Do you want to know how a strong UX design can increase the performance of your website and other online resources? We are happy to tell you more about it.
